About Us

SuffolkMarijuana.clinic — Virginia Medical Cannabis for the The Peanut Capital of the World

Built for Suffolk

Suffolk is one of Virginia's largest independent cities — a community of more than 185,000 residents on the Virginia Peninsula at the mouth of the James River, home to Suffolk Shipbuilding (Huntington Ingalls Industries), the Mariners' Museum, the Virginia Living Museum, and Christopher Newport University. SuffolkMarijuana.clinic is an online directory and telehealth scheduling platform connecting Suffolk residents with Virginia-licensed practitioners for CCA-compliant medical cannabis certifications.

We are not a medical practice, dispensary, or pharmacy. We connect patients with qualified practitioners and guide them through Virginia's straightforward certification process — from Hilton Village and Denbigh to Oyster Point, Port Warwick, and every Suffolk neighborhood.

How We Operate

Virginia-Licensed Practitioners

Every practitioner on our platform holds an active Virginia license and is registered with the CCA to issue written medical cannabis certifications — including physicians (MD), physician assistants (PAs), and APRNs/NPs.

HIPAA Protected

All telehealth appointments are conducted on HIPAA-compliant platforms. Suffolk patients' health information is handled with complete confidentiality throughout the process.

CCA-Compliant

Every certification is submitted directly into the Virginia CCA Portal. No state fee, no physical card required — your digital certification is valid at any licensed Virginia dispensary immediately.

How Virginia's Program Works

Virginia's Medical Cannabis Program, administered by the Cannabis Control Authority (CCA), is one of the most accessible in the country. There is no fixed list of qualifying conditions — any licensed Virginia practitioner may certify a patient for any condition they determine could benefit from cannabis use. Suffolk patients book a 15–20 minute telehealth appointment, receive a same-day digital certification if approved, and can purchase at any licensed Virginia dispensary immediately. No state fee, no physical card, no waiting.

Medical cannabis certifications are valid for up to one year. Patients can renew up to 45 days before expiration by booking a new telehealth appointment with any Virginia-licensed practitioner. Optional free registration with the CCA is available at cca.virginia.gov/medicalcannabis/patients.

Medical vs. Recreational Tax Savings

Virginia medical cannabis patients pay the standard 5.3% sales tax at licensed dispensaries. Adult-use recreational cannabis carries an additional 21% excise tax — a combined 26.3% rate. For Suffolk patients who regularly use cannabis to manage a qualifying condition, a medical certification can save over $750 annually in taxes at typical usage levels.

Federal Law Notice

Cannabis remains a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law regardless of Virginia state authorization. Suffolk residents should be aware that medical cannabis use may affect federal employment, housing assistance, firearms ownership, immigration status, and military service. Review cca.virginia.gov/laws for a full overview.

How This Platform Is Funded

SuffolkMarijuana.clinic is an advertising platform. Virginia-licensed practitioners pay for patient connection and marketing services. Those commercial relationships are disclosed in our Advertising Disclosure and play no role in any practitioner's clinical decisions. Questions? Use the contact form on our Terms & Policies page.
